Power Only

Power only trucking refers to a type of freight service where a truck and driver, also known as a power unit, are hired to haul a pre-loaded trailer provided by the customer. In this arrangement, the customer supplies the trailer—whether it’s a flatbed, refrigerated trailer, dry van, or another type—while the trucking company or driver provides only the tractor (or “power unit”) to move the load.

This service is commonly used by companies with their own trailers but lacking enough trucks or drivers to transport them. It’s also useful for companies needing temporary hauling support or moving specialized loads like modular buildings, heavy equipment, or oversized cargo. Power only trucking allows businesses to keep their trailers in circulation without needing to invest in additional trucks, offering a flexible and cost-effective solution for handling freight.
